Since the beginning of modernity, Europe has been strongly influenced by its overseas colonies. Likewise, the waves of decolonisation in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries had a massive impact on the continent and its internal and external relations – not least on the concept of Europe itself, with different results for the first and the second wave of decolonisation. Against this background, the opening conference of the Graduate Programme »Post-Eurocentric Europe« from 16–18 October at Uni Konstanz will look at the effects of imperial dissolution processes on Europe. uni-konstanz.de
