International Research Center Gender and Performativity: Second Opening

Following the successful launch of ICGP—an mdw institution for interdisciplinary research and teaching in gender studies at the interface of performance and theater studies, film and media studies, and musicology—this summer the second opening from 10–12 December focuses on dragging, racialization, and today’s political challenges in diverse geographical, historical, and performative contexts. OLFAC. Sensing across the Humanities, Sciences and Arts

 

The first international symposium of the ERC project OLFAC from 3–5 December at the ifk explores the Intervening Performativity of Smell. It brings together an international constellation of scholars and artists to explore the many ways in which smell intervenes in cultural, aesthetic, and political formations. Academy in Exile Fellowships

Academy in Exile is pleased to announce its 2025 fellowship program funded by the Mellon Foundation. AiE invites scholars at risk to apply for five available fellowships (12 months) at TU Dortmund University and the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) Essen. Eligible are scholars from any country who have a PhD in the humanities, social sciences, or law, and who are at risk because of their academic work and/or civic engagement in human rights, democracy, and the pursuit of academic freedom.
