Junior Fellowships for doctoral candidates with Austrian citizenship or non-Austrian doctoral candidates supervised at Austrian universities.
The next call for applications will be launched for the academic year 2023/24. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to participate in the IFK_Abroad fellowship program for research abroad planned for the academic year 2024/2025 (free choice of location and university abroad; participation is possible but not obligatory).
There is no English announcement, because the academy is held in German.
IFK_Research Fellowships are intended for postdoctoral researchers. Qualified applications for this fellowship will be accepted from individuals of all nationalities and regardless of institutional or professional affiliation. In cases of where applicants are of comparable qualification, Austrian applicants will be given preference.

IFK_Senior Fellowships are intended for outstanding researchers who are advanced in their academic careers, and want to pursue their own research at the IFK while fostering intellectual cooperation with the IFK_Fellows and other Austrian colleagues. Qualified applications for this fellowship will be accepted from individuals of all nationalities and regardless of institutional or professional affiliation. Applicants with an international reputation and a publication profile that identifies them as leading experts in their respective scientific fields are particularly encouraged to apply.
An application as a Senior Fellow excludes a parallel application as a Research Fellow.
In coordination with the Science Department (MA 7) of the City of Vienna, the IFK invites visiting scientists who are expected to make a special contribution to Vienna as a center of science.
It is not possible to apply for this fellowship, but will be selected by the IFK after successful submission of a motion for a Research or Senior Fellowship.
