Sie sind sehr viele, sie sind überall, sie haben unterschiedliche Gestalten und Funktionen, ihre Auftritte finden unter verschiedenen Vorzeichen statt, und ihre Verweildauer kann kurz oder erstaunlich lang sein. Was die Nebenfiguren bei aller Verschiedenheit indes gemeinsam haben, ist ihr paradoxaler Status im Feld der Wahrnehmung: bei voller Sichtbarkeit weitgehend unbeachtet zu bleiben.
