Fungi are everywhere. They colonize our bodies and environments, enrich food and medicine, provide sustainable materials, and some even withstand the most extreme conditions. With their refined perceptual capacities, fungi are masters of adaptation and collaboration, engaging in myriad forms of symbiosis.
Fungi and rot carry the stigma of death and decay. However, mycelial networks are key agents in processes of soil formation and regeneration. Without fungi and rot, the very ground that nourishes us simply wouldn’t exist.
Asexualität ist als Terminus im zeitgenössischen Sexualitätsdiskurs fest verankert. Darunter versämtlichen sich – in einem Spektrum mit vielfältigen Differenzierungen – Subjekte, die wenig oder kein sexuelles Interesse, keine sexuelle Anziehung durch andere Menschen bzw. keinen Wunsch nach sexueller Interaktion verspüren. Wie lassen sich Formen der Asexualität psychisch und kulturell verorten? From 8 October until 12 December 2025 the interdisciplinary collective SPORA, co-founded by Charlotte Janis and Roberto Dell’Orco transforms the underground exhibition space of the ifk into a living, rotting library. At the heart of the project are books that deal with the theme of the unconscious and that will be literally digested and transformed by the tangible workings of fungi.
